What else does a girl ever need besides sunshine, a flannel throw, some Murakami, and a pisco sour?

Before you hate me, please know that I spent yesterday (i.e., our anniversary) by going on a six-hour job interview--yes, you read that right, SIX HOURS, as in 360 minutes, 21,600 seconds... you get the drift--from the morning to late afternoon, then camping out in DK's office's conference room telecommuting to my actual job. I'd taken the day off, but you know, if you don't cut the email apron strings, you're liable to get garroted. In a purely metaphorical sense, of course. I hope.
DK was similarly slammed, and in consequence, we spent our anniversary dinner at Boqueria SoHo in a near-comatose state, mumbling at each other as we ate delicious chickpea-floured, fried sardines and heavenly grilled baby squid and sea urchin-smeared flatbread with baked quail eggs and cauliflower.... Sorry, what I was talking about?
O yes. So, I feel like I've really earned my so-far useless Friday.
Nonetheless, I beseech you: keep your fingers crossed for me! I'm one of the final candidates for two jobs right now, and I'll hopefully hear back from another job next week. It's rough out there, folks! I'm so grateful that 1) I have a job in the first place and that 2) anyone else could even be interested in little ol' me.
But at the moment, I'm even more grateful for an extra day of laziness this week. It's important, you know, to stop once in a while and smell your landlord's roses.

Awww, what a lovely post. You're so right, we should indeed smell the roses, well the Clematis actually..tomorrow I will take my Scott Fitzgerald, possibly a Pimms and go in search..
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration
