The beginning of the end

So, this is the score: I have two cats, I'm hopelessly nearsighted, and I will cancel just about any social engagement to sit at home and watch a new Masterpiece Theatre.

And, um, now? I've started collecting quilts.

Well, maybe collecting is too strong a word to use just yet. I mean, I only have one quilt and one quilt pillow.

And, I guess, I have my eye on a couple more on eBay. Well--ahem--a couple dozen.

I see my future. It has a lot of cast-iron doorstops in the shapes of cats, a whole bunch of potpourri satchels, and quite possibly a tatting hobby.

  3. If we lived in the same city and were friends (which we would be because of our extreme nearshightedness, of course), we would probably never see eachother, due to our canceling of all social excursions, just to stay home. So I guess we wouldn't be friends. It would be exactly how it is right this very second. Oh man, I'm making a mess of my thoughts.

  4. Gem: That is very, very true, although I'd love to make 'em as well!

Anna: Ha! I'm well on my way to a BH&G subscription, believe you me.

Melina: Aw, I'd put off Masterpiece Theatre to hang out with you for sure! (That, by the way, says a lot. Heh.)

  7. Not that you've seen it in action (your pillow), you won't overlook an unfinished quilt top - an economical way to whips up a seat cushion or a tiny table cover or a small peek-a-boo pillow, if you're handy with a needle + thread.
(BTW, how have I missed this blog? Infusions + sorbet + Peru? And I did read your latest post, and tho I don't know the situation, here's hoping the so hoping the influx of people who care will make easier to bear.

  8. Domestica, that quilt top idea is so simple and SO GENIUS! I'm always seeing pretty ones, but never figured out what I could do with them.

Thanks for further enabling my old biddiness. ;]
