In the past week, everyone was been heaving a sigh of relief that February was finally over with, and hip hip hooray for March. Everyone. I've talked about it with my boss and my co-workers, my landlord and landlady, every friend in New York, the guy at my deli, my milk guy, my egg guys, my root vegetable lady, the lady who cuts my bacon (that sounds like a euphemism for something, doesn't it?), and, o, yes, even the guy who drives around Brooklyn in an awesome green truck and sharpens your knives for you while you sit in the passenger seat.
I can't help but being fond of February because I happened to have been born at the very end of it. However, this year, I celebrated my birthday by traveling nonstop for 18 hours, and then being horribly, horribly jetlagged--lucky, lucky me. So I, too, was glad to bid the month farewell and good riddance.

the milk guy...haven't thought about him in a while, ha. the weather really does mean a lot to the people at the farmers market. my sister refused to work it this winter because she couldn't deal with the cold another year.
ReplyDeletehappy belated birthday!
Thanks, Julia!
ReplyDeleteAs you may imagine, milk guy is the same as ever. But some people at the greenmarket are really beginning to thaw. I think this winter made people extra grumpy!
