Light my fire

DK and I had so much fun camping last year, we vowed to head out as many times as we could this summer, but mea culpa, it's mid-July already, and the closest we've come to roasting s'mores over an open flame is... um, I don't know. Does buying s'more Pop-Tarts out of a vending machine and microwaving them count? No? Well, then.

We're prying ourselves away from work and the cats for four sure-to-be blissful days starting this Friday. Last year, we rented and borrowed everything; this year, we are at the proud owners of at least our own tent (formerly DK's brother's) and some still-to-arrive sleeping bags. And also, a '60s Coleman two-mantle lantern:


Which... doesn't work because of a busted gasket. Despite Oliver's close inspection and ministrations.

Luckily, we'll be able to fix everything up, with a little help from the handy-dandy Coleman's manual that the company has thoughtfully made available online, in all its originally illustrated glory:
